Mathematics is a relatively special subject, and many children are not very interested in mathematics. Mathematics learning cannot rely solely on imitation and memory. The hands-on operation, independent exploration, and cooperative communication are important methods for children to learn mathematics.
Let the children develop their spatial imagination in operation, comparison, and communication so that their mathematical thinking ability can be effectively exercised. For example, during children’s math learning, we can reasonably explore and develop some resources, such as: Rubik’s Cube, Nine Links, Tangram, etc., and combine these puzzle games with mathematics to cultivate children’s interest. Mobilizing interest is the key, and interest is the best teacher. Because children like maths, they are motivated to learn. If they lack interest, no matter how hard they work, they will not get a higher grade.
Therefore, parents can also actively guide and mobilize their children’s interest in mathematics at home, let the children like mathematics, and let the children know that mathematics is not just boring numbers. In cultivating children’s mathematical thinking, we can exercise the child’s thinking process of solving problems. Thinking is the key to solving a problem. We must pay special attention to let children speak their own thinking when solving problems. This can not only cultivate students’ thinking logic but also cultivate students’ language expression ability. Learning mathematics starts with interest. Parents need to find ways to increase children’s interest in mathematics learning through gamification, stimulate their children’s inner learning potential, and improve math performance.
